Weight sections in gyms are male dominated, creating an environment where women get harrassed. Let's put pressure on gyms to change this and become safer spaces for everyone.
Feature messages in the gym on the heaviest weights, targeting people at the point of the problem.
We ask gyms to follow three steps:
- Featuring messages on weights
- Ask for Harriet scheme
- Anti-harassment clauses in gym contracts
Gyms who do this will be branded as a Gymshark Safe Space, to make it easier for nervous gym goers to find a new safe space to workout.
A discreet way for gym members who are feeling uncomfortable in the gym by others to raise their suspecisions to gym staff who will be able to deal with the situation.
